Rappahannock-Westminster-Canterbury Foundation’s golf tournament benefitting the RWC Fellowship Fund will be held at Indian Creek Yacht & Country Club on April 25.
The 33rd Annual Open Golf Tournament is $125 per person and includes lunch, golf with cart, snacks, beverages, prizes and a reception. A vehicle lease is the hole-in-one prize. Prizes will also be awarded for closest to the pin and longest drive. Awards will be given for the top team in each flight.
“We are very pleased to host the golf tournament again this year,” said Brenda Mayer, Indian Creek head golf professional. “Many of our Indian Creek members live at Rappahannock Westminster-Canterbury and others see it as their future residence as well. We are so lucky to have this top-notch retirement community right here in the Northern Neck, so we are happy to support their efforts in any way.”
The tournament debuted before the first residents moved onto RWC’s Irvington campus. Proceeds from this charitable event support the RWC Fellowship Fund, which provides grants to older adults who qualify for residency at RWC in every way except financially. Adam Duryea and David Nova of Coastal Builders are co-chairing this year’s tournament.
The shotgun start begins at noon on April 25 and follows a Captain’s Choice format. The rain date is April 27.
“This is my first year managing the golf tournament and I have been overwhelmed by the community and corporate support,” said RWC Vice President of Marketing and Development LuAnne Davis. “Sponsors, golfers, volunteers and even spectators look forward to this event every year. We are extremely grateful to all of our sponsors with special thanks to our platinum sponsors – Connemara Corporation and Coastal Builders.”
Since 1986, the Fellowship Fund has provided more than $5.5 million in grants to ensure that RWC residents can enjoy a lifestyle of dignity and comfort at RWC’s Total LifeCare Retirement Community.
